How to pair and activate my smartwatch
Setting up a Smartwatch Standalone plan (Apple Watch Series 4 and up)
If you have an Apple Watch with cellular connectivity, you can connect it to the Bell Mobility LTE network by signing up for a Smartwatch Standalone plan.
This lets you or your family member have a dedicated phone number for the Apple Watch to make calls, send messages and stay connected.
You can activate your Apple Watch on a Standalone plan even if your iPhone is with another service provider (visit a store or contact us if you’re new to Bell). The Apple Watch with cellular connectivity has an eSIM (a built-in SIM card), so you don't need a separate SIM card.
What you need:
- An eligible Apple Watch: Apple Watch Series 4 or later, Apple Watch SE or later, or Apple Watch Ultra or later. The watch must have cellular connectivity (e.g., GPS + Cellular model) and watchOS 10.4 or later.
- An eligible iPhone: iPhone XS or later with iOS 17.4 or later for the initial watch setup. Make sure that your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network and has Bluetooth switched on.
- An Apple ID for yourself and one for the family member who will use the Apple Watch. Your Apple ID needs to have two-factor authentication turned on.
